CLOSED : Magnox Electric Limited - request for variation

SEPA has received an application from Magnox Electric Limited
requesting variation of an existing authorisation granted under the
Radioactive Substances Act 1993, as amended. The variation is
requested to reflect the change of the operator at the low level
waste repository near Drigg in Cumbria. As required by section 17
of the act, SEPA is consulting the Food Standards Agency and the
Health and Safety Executive. A copy of the application is also
being sent to the Scottish Government to allow Scottish Ministers
to decide if they wish to exercise the powers provided by sections
23 and 24 of the act. SEPA is also consulting with LLW Repository
Limited.
