Chief Executive's Department

Secretariat

Secretariat provides a range of services relating to the Chairman and the Board, and the Chief Executive and the Corporate Management Team.

Strategic Corporate Communications

We offer access to a variety of marketing consultancy areas such as, communications planning and implementation, media relations, graphic design, publication and editing, and events planning for SEPA. Our activities help the organisation get its messages across in a targeted way.

We provide specialist advice to all of SEPA’s business areas on the most effective methods of communication. We also work with a range of other stakeholders, including the Scottish Government and partner organisations, to help promote environmental improvement and protection messages.

External Engagement Unit

SEPA’s Parliamentary and European engagement work is co-ordinated by the External Engagement Unit (EEU) in the Chief Executive's Department.

Climate Change and Business Engagement

Martin Valenti, Climate Change and Business Engagement Manager is Project Manager of Scotland's 2020 Climate Group and is a member of the Scottish Low Carbon Investment Project Board. 

Human Resources

The HR Department provides advice, guidance and support to managers in effectively managing a wide range of employee matters. In addition, staff provide a range of HR administration functions, including recruitment administration, corporate management information, and preparation of relevant contractual documentation.

The department is also responsible for modernising SEPA’s employment framework and HR policies and procedures.
