Inverdee House opens its doors for one day only
EXT01 – A17
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency's (SEPA) new home in
Torry, Aberdeen will be open to members of the public on Saturday
11 September.
Inverdee House, the recently completed waterfront offices shared
by SEPA, Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) and the Joint Nature
Conservation Committee (JNCC), is a landmark building
incorporating many energy saving and sustainable technologies. It
will be open to the public as part of the national Doors Open Day
initiative, which gives free access to hundreds of fascinating
buildings across Scotland.
Roger Owen, SEPA's Head of Ecology and based at Inverdee House,
said:
"SEPA is delighted to support this year's Doors Open Day, which
provides an excellent opportunity to showcase the architectural
achievements of our new shared office building in Torry, Inverdee
House, and at the same time highlight environmental protection in
Scotland. Members of the public will be shown round the building by
members of staff who will point out the many environmental features
that have been incorporated into the building.
"The base for three of Scotland's key environmental
agencies - SEPA, SNH and JNCC - Inverdee House is more than just a
building. It provides state-of-the-art facilities while achieving
excellent standards of energy efficiency and environmental
performance. It is a statement about the environment, about the
community and about the future and we look forward to welcoming
members of the public into our new home in Aberdeen."
To view the building it is necessary to be part of a tour. Tour
places are limited and must be booked in advance. Please contact
