Volcanic ash cloud – the latest news from SEPA – update 4
SEPA's ongoing monitoring of Scotland's environment in relation
to volcanic ash from the Icelandic volcano has continued over the
weekend. Air quality and radioactivity monitoring networks continue
to provide normal readings with no areas of concern.
Samples of dust and rainwater from sites across Scotland are now
being sent to SEPA laboratories for analysis. Initial results are
expected later today and tomorrow morning.
On the basis of available data, SEPA continues to believe there
is minimal risk to the environment.
Further updates will be published as soon as the latest
scientific analysis results are available.
