Intensive agriculture

Some types of intensive agriculture are covered by the PPC Regulations. The main activities are rearing poultry or pigs intensively in an installation with more than:

40,000 places for poultry, including ducks and turkeys
2,000 places for production pigs (over 30 kilogrammes)
750 places for sows.
