Charging Schemes : Benchmarking

As part of our commitment to continuous monitoring and greater transparency of SEPA charging mechanisms we have been working jointly with the Environment Agency, Scottish Executive and Defra to produce a charges benchmarking report.

The report compares and reports SEPA and Environment Agency environmental protection charges in Scotland, England and Wales for2005/06. It looks at how charges are set, how they have developed and then looks at 11 major schemes in detail. Where there are differences between the two organisations, we explain why and quantify the differences for similar activities, by the use of worked examples.
