How to apply for a permit
Operators of installations covered by the EU Emissions Trading
System (EU ETS) must apply to their regulator to obtain a permit
using the appropriate permit application form. The permit will
contain conditions that have to be complied with in respect of
emissions of carbon dioxide, including monitoring and reporting
requirements.
The distinction between permits and allowances should be noted:
a permit needs to be held to enable allowances to be allocated to
your installation if covered by the system, but it does not
determine the actual amount allocated.
The Greenhouse Gas Permit application form ETS1 is available for
download from the
Forms page. Other permit related application forms available on

- ETS10 application to transfer one or more Schedule 1 processes
to another operator
- ETS 11 application to surrender a permit
The permit application should be signed and sent in hard copy to
SEPA.
