Aviation
SEPA is the environmental regulator for all Aviation ETS operators that have their
registered office in Scotland. From 2013, Aviation ETS operators
without a registered office in the UK are allocated according to
where their highest percentage of emissions takes place. SEPA is
therefore the regulator for the Aircraft Operators whose main
emissions take place during flights to or from Scotland as well as
those with a registered address in Scotland. Contact SEPA if you have
any questions about Aviation ETS.
The EU ETS covers
flights which depart from or arrive in countries participating in the EU
ETS. European Commission has recently proposed some
temporary changes
to the EU ETS for aviation.
