| The Radioactive Substances Act 1993 (as amended): Application for the variation of authorisations to dispose of combustible radioactive wastes from Torness and Hunterston "B" Power Stations (Closed 12th April 2006)
Notice is hereby given that applications, under section 17(2) of the above Act, have been made by British Energy Generation Limited to the Scottish Environment Protection Agency for the variation of authorisations held under section 13 of the above Act by British Energy Generation Limited. The authorisations subject to the applications relate to the disposal of combustible radioactive wastes from Torness Power Station, Dunbar, East Lothian, EH42 1QS and Hunterston 'B' Power Station, West Kilbride, Ayrshire, KA23 9QJ. In accordance with the requirements of Section 17(2A) of the above Act, SEPA is consulting with statutory consultees, the Food Standards Agency and the Health and Safety Executive. In addition SEPA is consulting with the Environment Agency (EA) and the operator of the incinerator at Charleston Road, Hardley, Hythe, Southampton, Hampshire SO45 3ZA.
