This guidance has been produced to help operators when preparing their PPC applications for landfill leachate treatment facilities.

It is important to note that SEPA is only consulting on the technical aspects of this consultation draft. Where references are made to BAT, legislative mechanisms and associated interpretations, these should be read to apply to England and Wales only.


How to respond

We would like to receive your views on this draft PPC Technical Guidance for the Treatment of Landfill Leachate. The document is a consultation draft and you are welcome to comment on any aspect, however, comments are particularly sought on the following:

• Section 2 with reference to any additional techniques that may be employed to treat leachate.
  
  
• Section 2.4.2 with reference to the raw materials used in the treatment of leachate and any suggested alternative less polluting options.
  
  
• Section 3.2.2 with reference to applicability of the indicative emission benchmark values in Table 3.2.
