| The Radioactive Substances Act 1993 (as amended): Application for authorisation to dispose of radioactive wastes from Hunterston “B” Power Station (Closed 2nd June 2006)
Notice is hereby given that six applications have been made by British Energy Generation Limited to the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) for an authorisation under Section 13 of the above Act to dispose of radioactive wastes from the premises at Hunterston ‘B’ Power Station, West Kilbride, Ayrshire KA23 9QJ. In accordance with the requirements of Section 16(5) of the above Act, SEPA is specifically consulting with the following bodies: The Committee on the Medical aspects of Radiation in the Environment (COMARE), The Committee on Radioactive Waste Management (CRWM), The Health Protection Agency, Radiation Protection Division (formerly NRPB), The Environment Agency (EA), Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH), Scottish Water, Ayrshire and Arran NHS Board, North Ayrshire Council, Cumbria County Council, Copeland Borough Council, Hampshire County Council and New Forest District Council.
