Planning for floods
The consultation, Planning for floods: Planning for the
future, formed part of the early stages of work to implement the
Flood Risk Management Act. It represented an important first
step towards establishing a framework for partnership working
and flood risk management. To view a copy of the

To support the consultation an event took place to provide an
opportunity for practitioners, policy makers, local authorities and
interested stakeholders to actively contribute to developing the
future of flood risk management in Scotland. In addition to
providing a forum for discussion on how to deliver a partnership
approach to implementation, stakeholders were given the opportunity
to clarify any issues or queries they had through question and
answer sessions with a panel of representatives from responsible
authorities, including Scottish Government, Scottish Water, SEPA
and local authorities. To view presentations from the event
