Advisory Groups

Advisory groups enable a partnership approach to be taken in flood risk management planning.  There are three advisory groups to support the planning process.  Please click on each title to find out more information about the group:

  • The National Flood Management Advisory Group (NFMAG) – The NFMAG will provide advice and support to SEPA and other responsible authorities on the production of flood risk management plans, including maps and assessments.  NFMAG was established in April 2011.  Click here to find out more about the NFMAG.

  • Local Advisory Groups (LAG) - These groups will provide advice and support to SEPA and local authorities on the preparation of local detail for the flood risk management plans.  They will also provide an opportunity for local communities and stakeholders to be involved in flood risk management.

  • The Cross Border Advisory Group (CBAG) - CBAG will advise the flood risk management planning process in the cross border district of Solway and Tweed.  As this district extends into England, CBAG will provide a forum where organisations from Scotland and England can work together to produce flood risk management plans.  Please click here to find out more about CBAG.
