Areas for planning

Flood Risk Management Plans will be produced at the national and local level.

At the national level, there are two flood risk management districts; Scotland and the Solway Tweed.  Please click here to view the flood risk management districts.

To prepare local flood risk management plans, Scotland will be divided into local plan districts which will include whole river catchments to support the new approach to managing flood risk.  SEPA is in the process of consulting on the boundaries for these local plan districts and will submit recommendations to Ministers in December 2011.
