You are the first line of defence against flooding and responsible for protecting yourself, your family, property and business.  It is important to know what actions you can take to reduce the impact of flooding on yourself and your property.  SEPA's Floodline service can help you be prepared for flooding.

You can also become involved in helping to manage the risk of flooding in your local area.  Some ways you can do this include:

• Getting involved in community organisations and events by joining a local flood group or visiting SEPA roadshows and exhibitions in your area
  
• Sharing your views and opinions with SEPA by responding to consultations on flood risk management
  
• Keeping up to date with developments on flood risk management by regularly visiting SEPA and your local authority website
