Agricultural waste guidance
Guidance on minimising farm-produced waste and complying
with waste regulations is available from the relevant sections on
the navigation menu.
Since the introduction of Waste
(Scotland) regulations 2005
(effective from 21st January 2005), farms, like any other
business, have a Duty of Care to ensure that the waste they
produce is disposed of safely through licensed waste management
facilities, without harm to the environment.
While this may pose a challenge to many farmers in finding
alternative methods of disposal, it also presents important
opportunities to promote more sustainable farm waste management
systems.
Guidance is available from a number of sources including:
PEPFAA code
and
NetRegs Agricultural guidance
. Additional guidance can be found in Publications e.g.
