SEPA is about to embark on its 2008 Survey of Regulated Industries and other Customers. This will enable the organisation to establish, harness and respond to views about its performance and customer relationships. This includes both the positive aspects of the organisation and its work, together with the less satisfactory aspects and potential areas for improvement. In particular the survey seeks to establish what sort of experience its customers have in terms of SEPA’s approachability, helpfulness, professionalism, business awareness, expertise, consistency etc.
The outputs from the survey will enable SEPA to assess to what extent it is perceived as an ‘enabling’ organisation as opposed to simply an ‘enforcer’ and whether there is more that it can do to contribute to sustainable economic development in Scotland. It is intended that the results of the research be used to inform the direction and approach of the organisation and provide a baseline against which future customer strategy and customer surveys may also be carried out.
George Street Research have been appointed to undertake the survey. To ensure the results are statistically valid, a sample of 1,500 businesses will be selected at random and interviews will commence week beginning 26th May 2008.
