SEPA's West Region Board Meets in Kirkintilloch

The Board of the Scottish Environment Protection Agency’s (SEPA) West Region will meet in Kirkintilloch on Friday 19 December at 9.30am. The venue will be East Dunbartonshire Council Offices, Tom Johnston House, Civic Way, Kirkintilloch.

The Board’s custom is to meet in different locations within the Region, to give Board members an opportunity to become familiar with the Region and to provide an opportunity for local people to attend the meetings. The previous meeting was held in Motherwell.

The agenda for the Kirkintilloch meeting will include: a report on the Bishopbriggs Burn, and the Upgrading of the A74, an update on the present situation. This is in addition to regular agenda items including the Director’s Report, Financial Report, and Environmental Licences Granted and Applications Received.

2. SEPA Board Structure

Members of the Main Board of SEPA, which legally constitutes the Agency, are appointed by the Secretary of State for Scotland after open advertisement of the posts. Regional Boards for North, West and East Regions are appointed by the Agency, also on the basis of open advertising, to advise on regional priorities, to generate local environmental initiatives and to give advice on major issues.
