Pollution Prevention Guidelines on the Web
Issued on 2 November 1998 - Ref 37/98

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) has been working with the Environment Agency and the Environment and Heritage Service in Northern Ireland, on a range of Pollution Prevention Guidance Notes. The notes provide practical advice on how to minimise pollution. Until now, these notes have only been available in paper from the offices of the three Agencies.

"Putting this guidance on the SEPA web-site will ensure that a wide audience can access the information", said Donny Morrison of the Water Policy Team at SEPA Head Office. "The best thing about the Pollution Prevention Guidance Notes is that there’s something there for everyone. Whether you work for another public sector organisation, in industry, for an environmental consultancy or are an interested member of the public, the notes will act as a useful source of relevant, practical advice on how to minimise the risks of pollution."

To date, material produced has included guidance on:

The materials can also be found on the web-site of the Environment Agency, the address of which is: http//:www.environment-agency.gov.uk
