Explosion at SmithKline Beecham plc, Irvine

SEPA is aware of the explosion between 7-8am at the above site in Irvine.
It is understood the incident was in the 6APA building.
A local SEPA officer is already on his way to the scene and a specialist Integrated Pollution and Control Officer will follow once the extent of the incident is established.
SEPA regulates the site for emissions to the environment, and will be keeping a watching brief on the ongoing situation
