Paisley University honours SEPA Director

Professor David Mackay OBE, Director of North Region of the Scottish Environment Protection Agency is to be awarded an honorary Doctorate by the University of Paisley. The award is being made in recognition of Dingwall-based Professor Mackay's distinguished career in the field of environmental protection.
In addition to many years' work with Scottish River Purification Boards and fisheries research science, Professor Mackay has undertaken missions abroad on behalf of the World Health Organisation, and was a founder member of the team which set up the highly successful Environmental Protection Agency for Hong Kong.
Professor Mackay became the first Director of SEPA's North Region when the organisation was established in 1996. He is current Chairman of the Moray Firth Partnership, recognised worldwide as an expert on the salmon farming industry and acts as SEPA's main spokesman on the Dounreay nuclear site.
