Stirling Water Seafield Ltd fined after pollution incident

On Wednesday 18 June 2003 at Linlithgow Sheriff Court, Stirling Water Seafield Limited pled guilty to the following:

“That on 5 May 2002 at East Calder Waste Water Treatment Works, East Calder, said company did cause or knowingly permit sewage effluent, namely settled storm sewage effluent, to be discharged into the River Almond contrary to Section 30F(3) of the Control of Pollution Act 1974. A fine of £2,000 was imposed.”

The case was heard after the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) submitted a report to the procurator fiscal.
