Scotland’s environment watchdog, the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA), is looking for people who are genuinely interested in environmental issues to join its West Region Board.
Lots of people like to know that the environment they and their families live in is clean and healthy, but very few get actively involved in doing anything about it. SEPA is looking for people who can demonstrate their commitment to the environment to apply for a place on the West Region Board and act as SEPA’s “eyes and ears”, providing the organisation with information relevant to its duties.
Sir Ken Collins, Chairman of SEPA, is keen that a wide variety of people consider whether they could contribute effectively to SEPA’s business. “SEPA has to have local authority and business representation on its Boards, but we need people with diverse backgrounds and experiences. All individuals with an understanding of environmental issues have the potential to make a valuable contribution to SEPA’s work.”
Stan Dagg, the Chairman of the West Region Board also added: “Regional Boards are going through an exciting period just now, with their roles being re-visited. The West Region Board currently needs new members and I would be delighted to receive applications from anyone who participates in environmental activities and wants to help make a difference to the environment of Scotland.”
