On Thursday 18 December, at Haddington Sheriff Court, Mr Henry Wason, in his capacity as director of H&A Wason (Kamehill) Limited, was found guilty of carrying on a prescribed process, namely the manufacture of fishmeal for sale, at Kamehill Farm, East Linton, East Lothian, without authorisation from SEPA in contravention of sections 6 & 23 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
The prosecution was the result of a report submitted to the Procurator Fiscal by SEPA in respect of the period 29 March 2001 to 19 February 2002. Mr Wason was fined £250.
The reporting officer for SEPA was Damian Walls. He said: “We are satisfied that this case resulted in a guilty verdict.”
