2.3 Sustainable Waste Management It is Scottish Executive policy to move towards more sustainable waste management systems with increased recycling and composting [25% of municipal solid waste (MSW) by 2006] and less reliance on landfill disposal. The Strategic Waste Fund has been established to assist local authorities with the additional costs of implementing the National Waste Strategy. |
