Tayside Area Waste Plan (AWP) & Annual Report
Area Waste Plan (2003)
Tayside Strategic Option Appraisal, completed March 2006 and published by the Scottish Executive in May 2006. It set out to:
- Investigate options for waste processing facilities serving the Tayside waste strategy areas
- Identify further best value and partnership working opportunities across the boundaries of the two areas.
- Outline what funding is required deliver the infrastructure to meet the Tayside Area Waste Plan
The key outputs included:
- 60, 000 tonne per annum Energy from Waste facility to serve Perth and Kinross Council
- 15,000 tonne per annum Clean Material Recovery facility to serve Perth and Kinross Council
- 1 Recyclate Bulking Station to serve Dundee City Council
- 3 x 15,000 tonne per annum animal by product compliant composting facility
