Best Practice Data Collection Project

In order to improve municipal waste data reporting, SEPA and the Scottish Executive have funded the transition of data reporting for Scottish local authorities to a new UK on-line system, WasteDataFlow. To support the councils through the process of change, the Scottish Executive commissioned a research project to investigate current local authority waste data activities. Entec carried out the project, interviewing councils throughout the UK to identify common problems of waste data management along with tried and tested best practice activities to overcome these challenges.

A booklet was produced entitled Good Practice Guide for Waste Data Management in Scotland which is a practical, user friendly and effective tool for assisting Scottish local authorities in the collection of municipal waste data. They also produced the WasteDataFlow Project Technical Report. You can download the booklet and technical report below:
