This report provides a summary progress report on the aggregation and integration of Area Waste Plans. It is an early assessment of the outcomes of 11 Draft Area Waste Plans. The purpose of the report is to keep key stakeholders and the public updated on progress in the development of the National Waste Strategy for Scotland during the process of integrating and aggregating the Area Waste Plans. The final products from this process will be 11 completed Area Waste Plans covering Scotland and an Integrated National Waste Plan for Scotland. This latter documnet will be the second National Waste Strategy: Scotland following on from the Strategy published in December 1999.

It should be noted that this is a report on the early stages of integration and aggregation. Accordingly the report should be seen as a pogress report and not a report on the completed process.
