Working alongside the “Supporting Guidance for Area Waste Plans”, the “Best Practicable Environmental Option - Decision Making Guidance” document (BPEO) will aid the decision making process, as there is a complex array of social, economic and environmental factors to consider when selecting the future waste management options. The process follows waste through its life cycle, from generation, collection, reprocessing to final disposal. Area Waste Plans will ensure that the local circumstance are fully identified while also taking into account the national objectives.
