A key means of implementing the NWS is the production of eleven Area Waste Plans (AWPs) across Scotland. Local geographical, economic and social variations will be taken into consideration within each of the 11 AWPs but together they will produce a sustainable (and integrated) waste management approach for Scotland as a whole. This document outlines and guides the AWP process, from the establishment of the Waste Strategy Area Group to the publication of the Area Waste Plans.
