Changing the way we think about waste is one of the biggest challenges we face if we are to meet the targets outlined in the National Waste Plan. The Scottish Executive have invested heavily, at both a local and National level, in programmes to help change public perceptions of waste and resources in Scotland .

The Scottish Waste Awareness Group (SWAG)

Waste Aware Scotland LogoThe Scottish Waste Awareness Group (SWAG) is working, through the Waste Aware Scotland campaign, towards changing current public attitudes and behaviour towards domestic waste. Campaigns are being run in partnership with individual local authorities and Waste Strategy Area Groups to ensure that timings of the campaigns run in parallel with the delivery of recycling facilities on the ground - providing the householder with the means for taking action.

For more information on the Waste Aware Scotland campaign in your area visit: www.wascot.org.uk.
