The National Network Conference 2006 took place on Tuesday 21st November 2006, at the Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh.
This year’s event was jointly hosted by The Network and Changeworks which brought together our annual conference and the Make Waste History Schools Summit. The day was enlightening and innovative for all involved with Waste Education. The event was attended by over 200 people. SEPA’s first network event to involve secondary school children.
The event was chaired by Neil Fraser, Changeworks. Delegates were presented with a keynote address from Kate Campbell of the Ecoschools campaign who confirmed the need to educate at all levels.
The highlight of the day for many was the exciting show by “Dr. Bunhead” from t.v show Brainiac. The room was filled with gasps and applause. Dr Bunhead showed in an innovative way how we are living out with our means and not using to the fullest, the resources we already have.
Presentations were made by:
Kate Campbell Eco-schools
Anna Beswick Scottish Waste Awareness Group
Workshops on the day included:
Moray Council Play “It’s a wasteful life”
Highland council Waste Educators Pack
