The Network National Conference 2005
Wednesday December 14th 2005 - Radisson Hotel, Glasgow
The Network National Conference 2005 brought together over 100 waste education practitioners from across Scotland to look at the new challenges facing the waste education sector. The conference heard from a range of speakers on how waste education fits into the wider programme of education for sustainable development and the Scottish curriculum. The conference also heard from the Environment and Heritage Service about the national education and awareness programme running in Northern Ireland.
In the afternoon a series of workshops and mini seminars were held on
Waste Prevention - Guidance for Waste Education Officers; a taster
session for SEPA/Open University Waste Aware Course; the new Scottish
Waste Education Support Programme; and looking at developing Site Visits
as part of an education programme.
