PPC : Guidance on the Control of Noise at PPC Installations

The Pollution Prevention and Control (Scotland) Regulations 2000 (the PPC Regulations) designate the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) as the 'Regulator' responsible for enforcing the regime. As part of its role as regulator SEPA produces guidance for use in enforcing the PPC Regulations.

SEPA has produced guidance on the control of noise at PPC installations which will be used when considering applications for, and inspections of PPC installations.

The guidance, which is specifically designed to take into consideration the different regulatory regime in Scotland for the control of PPC activities, is to be viewed as complimentary to the guidance on noise and vibration control at PPC installations currently being produced by The Environment Agency, The Environment and Heritage Service, Northern Ireland and SEPA.
