Part
2, "Odour Assessment & Control", is aimed
equally at Regulators and Operators. It forms a background
to Part 1 and describes:
- a
range of odour impact assessment methodologies
- the
collection of odour samples
- the
"measurement" of odour - using analytical
and sensory techniques
- the
control of odour by design, and by operational and
management techniques, and
- the
range of "end-of-pipe" odour abatement technologies
available.
These
cross-sectoral notes should be used in conjunction with
the appropriate Sector Guidance Note to determine BAT
for a specific installation, taking local factors into
account.
