Assessment of tributyltin impacts and concentrations in
Loch Ryan
In 2002, the (then) Scottish Executive asked SEPA to report on
the environmental quality of waters in Loch Ryan, specifically in
terms of contamination by tributyltin and related compounds. As a
result, SEPA carried out a series of special surveys in 2003.
This report presents the findings of these surveys, and brings
together the results of previous surveys into the effects
of tributylin contamination in the loch carried out in 1989,
1996, 2000 and 2001.
