Environmental quality
Our Environmental Quality units provide practical cross-media
and cross-functional co-ordination between the scientific functions
and other SEPA directorates. Staff assess, classify and report on
pressures, risks and environmental quality. They report
matters to SEPA's regional boards, represent all of Environmental
Science on the Regulatory Review Team (RRT) meetings and chair
and lead Regional Environment Groups (REG).
Our Environmental Assessment Unit (EAU) is responsible for the
initiation, development and provision or dissemination of expert
environmental modelling and data assessment (statistics and data
trend information) systems for SEPA. The EAU makes national reports
of data for SEPA and for statutory returns to Government or the
EU.
