Commercial and industrial waste reporting

SEPA produces reports on a wide variety of commercial and industrial waste streams in Scotland, including wastes from businesses, construction and demolition wastes, and specific waste streams, such as clinical waste and used oils.

These data are important as they are required for reporting under the European Union Waste Statistics Regulations and they inform waste management planning and policy decisions.  Further information on each of these waste streams and the data sources used to report them is available in the related items.

Business waste surveys

SEPA has conducted two national surveys to gather information on the types and quantities of business waste produced in Scotland.  The results of these surveys are available here:

Construction and demolition waste

Detailed reports on the types and quantities of construction and demolition wastes managed in Scotland are available here:

Priority waste streams

SEPA identified a number of priority waste streams which required more detailed study because of, for example, their recycling potential or hazardous nature.  Further information on these focused studies is available here:

Agriculture, forestry and fishing wastes

SEPA has produced data on agriculture, forestry and fishing wastes in Scotland.  These data are available here:

Other reports

Commercial and industrial waste data are used in a wide range of other reports including those for the Waste Statistics Regulations, the Waste Data Digest and the Strategic Waste Management Review.
