Business Waste Survey Reports
Business waste accounts for around one third
of the controlled waste produced in Scotland. It is the waste
produced by public sector organisations and commercial and
industrial companies, such as factories, utility and transport
companies, shops, offices, hotels, restaurants, schools and
hospitals.
Waste from commercial enterprises, such as
shops and offices, tends to be quite similar in nature while waste
produced by industrial processes can vary considerably.
Further information on the way SEPA collects
data on business waste can be found on the business waste surveys
page.
SEPA has produced reports on the types and quantities of
business waste produced in Scotland
It is important to note that the estimates in the reports
are subject to large confidence intervals and the results therefore
are indicative only.
Further information on trends in business
waste is available in the Waste Data Digest: Key Facts and Trends
document (see link opposite).
