Local Authority Collected Waste (LACW) reporting
SEPA produces a number of reports concerning Local Authority
Collected waste. These are detailed below.
Household waste summary reports
Reports on household waste according to the new definition of
household waste as per Zero Waste Plan – guidance for local
authorities issued March 2011.
LACMW summary reports
The LACMW summary reports are presented as annual and quarterly
data. The annual reports provide a summary LACMW recycling and
composting rates, and of the LACW biodegradable municipal wastes
landfilled in Scotland and for Scotland as a whole.
Both annual and quarterly reports are available here:
Waste Data Digest
A wide range of summary data on Local Authority Collected
Municipal Waste (LACMW) arisings, recycling and composting, and
disposal are available in the annual Waste Data Digest.
Local authority annual reports
Up to 2009 (last reporting year 2007/2008), SEPA prepared annual
reports give comprehensive information on waste arisings, recycling
and composting, and disposal for each Scottish Local Authority, all
by financial year. There is a report for each local authority and
for Scotland as a whole.
From 2006/2007, when the data collection system changed to
WasteDataFlow, the layout of the reports for municipal and other
wastes changed; this should be considered when comparing data with
previous years.
SEPA is in the process of changing the annual reporting of LACW
information.
Other reports
LACMW data are used in a wide range of other reports including
those for the European Union Waste Statistics
Regulations and the Strategic Waste
Management Review. Additionally, certain summary reports are
available on the WasteDataFlow
website.
