Campbeltown monitoring buoy, Campbeltown Loch
Introduction
Continuous monitoring buoy was deployed in Campbeltown Loch between June 2010 and September 2011 in order to assess the presence of phytoplankton blooms and related water quality. Phytoplankton blooms are short lived so could be missed by previous monitoring which was based on regular visits. The frequency of such monitoring was often subject to weather conditions and vessel availability.
Current observations:
The buoy collects data at 30 minutes intervals and the data are displayed as daily averages.
