Membership
SEPA recognises the benefits of working with existing groups and
is committed to working with them wherever possible. In the Tweed
sub basin, we work closely with the Tweed Forum, an organisation
with a successful history of catchment planning and management
relating to the water environment of the Tweed. You can find out
more about the Tweed Forum using the link below.
Members of the existing Tweed Forum executive form a significant
part, although not all of, the Tweed Area Advisory Group and
include those who play a role in using, protecting, maintaining or
enhancing the Tweed water environment. Members include
representatives from:
- Commerce and industry – Paper Federation
- Consumer Council for Water
- Country Land and Business Association
- East Lothian Council
- Forestry Commission Scotland
- National Farmers Union Scotland
- Natural England
- Northumberland County council
- Northumberland National Park
- Northumberland Wildlife Trust
- Northumbrian Water
- River Tweed Commissioners
- Royal Society for the Protection of Birds
- Scottish Borders Council
- Scottish Enterprise Borders
- Scottish Natural Heritage
- Scottish Rural Property and Business Association
- Scottish Water
- South Lanarkshire Council
- Tweed Forum
Membership is flexible. It will be
possible for additional members to be co-opted for agreed periods
to assist with the preparation of particular aspects of river basin
planning. Such members can be co-opted onto the AAG for single
meetings, to cover specific agenda items or for a short period to
advise on a particular issue. They will not be full members and
therefore will not determine quorum or vote.
Meetings and minutes
The Solway AAG meets regularly and provides a mechanism to
support the production of a river basin management plan (RBMP) for
the Scotland river basin district, and its co-ordination with other
plans and programmes.
Future meetings
The date for the next meeting of Tweed AAG will be confirmed
soon.
Previous meetings
Agenda, minutes, papers and presentations from previous meetings
of Tweed AAG are available online.
