contact your local SEPA office.
Environmental service
Engineering activities which meet the definition of
‘environmental service’ are exempt from charges. This applies in
very specific cases. If you believe this applies to your activity,
we strongly recommend that you contact your local SEPA office to
discuss before proceeding.
Please note: if you wish to register an activity that qualifies as
an environmental service you must submit a paper application
accompanied by a document which supports your claim for
environmental service. Paper application forms are available at the
link below.
Protected Areas
Please note: if your engineering activity is taking place
within, or likely to affect, a designated area (eg SSSI, SAC, SPA)
or likely to affect a protected species, then Scottish Natural
Heritage (SNH) should also be contacted to identify any
requirements they may have.
