SEPA Flood maps: Acceptance of Terms and Conditions
By selecting ACCEPT you, as a member of the public or as an internal business user, agree that you have read, understood and will be bound by the Terms and Conditions provided below.
If you find any of these Terms and Conditions unacceptable, you must not use the flood maps in any way and should select DECLINE.
Terms and Conditions
Ownership:
All intellectual property rights for Flood Maps are owned by SEPA or its licensors and you acknowledge that ownership of the Flood Maps and intellectual property rights shall be and shall remain with SEPA or its licensors. You have no rights to or in the Flood Maps other than to view the Flood Maps under these Terms and Conditions.
You may use the Flood Maps for Your own personal use only. The Flood Maps cannot be used for or related to any commercial, business, professional or other income generating purpose or activity, nor by value added resellers. You must not copy, assign, transfer, distribute, modify, create derived products or reverse engineer the Maps in any way. Your use of the Flood Maps must not be detrimental to SEPA, its activities or the environment.
Warranties and Indemnities:
The Flood Maps are indicative and of a strategic nature. Whilst all reasonable effort has been made to ensure that the Flood Maps are accurate for their intended purpose, no warranty is given by SEPA in this regard. Within any modelling technique there is inherent uncertainty. SEPA has assessed the confidence it has in the maps and has shaded areas where data is not appropriate for use or where no data is available. It is inappropriate for these Flood Maps to be used to assess flood risk to an individual property.
Whilst all reasonable effort has been made to ensure that the Flood Maps are up to date, complete and accurate, no guarantee is given in this regard and ultimate responsibility lies with you to validate any information given. SEPA will not be responsible if the information contained in the Flood Maps are misinterpreted or misused by you.
SEPA cannot guarantee that the Flood Maps will be available from this website at all times and shall not be liable for any system downtime or other associated issues.

Modification:
SEPA will regularly review the Flood Maps as it may deem necessary. SEPA has the right, at its sole discretion and at any time, to change or modify the Flood Maps and these Terms and Conditions, such changes shall be effective immediately. Flood Map creation information is provided on the map viewer and you are responsible for reviewing this page to obtain up to date information. Your continued use of the Flood Maps after any changes shall constitute your acceptance of any revised terms and conditions.
Data Protection:
You agree not to use the Maps in any way that constitutes a breach of the Data Protection Act 1998.
No Partnership or Agency:
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions are intended to, or shall be deemed to, establish any partnership or joint venture between you and SEPA.
No Interference:
Nothing within these Terms and Conditions interferes with the statutory rights or obligations of you or SEPA.
Jurisdiction:
These Terms and Conditions are governed by Scots law and in the event of any dispute you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish Courts.
