Data and information on the types and quantities of waste generated and managed across Scotland are presented as interactive tools with tables and charts that can be filtered to suit.
The Scotland’s Environment Waste Discover Data tool presents waste from all sources, i.e. from households, the construction and demolition sector, and from commerce and industry. The tool shows a break-down of waste types for 2011 – 2016 and the trend for Scottish waste landfilled since 2005. A commentary document that provides interpretation of trends and a quality report for the data is available (see table below). All data can be exported to Excel if required.

The waste Generated and Managed in 2017 will be available in March 2019 and Statistics for waste landfilled in Scotland 2017 and waste incinerated in Scotland 2017 will be published on September 2018.
