Groundwater
This type of flooding is caused by water rising up from underlying rocks or flowing from springs. Groundwater is generally a contributing factor to flooding rather than the primary source. This map shows you where groundwater could influence the duration and extent of flooding from other sources. It does not show where groundwater alone could cause flooding.
Reservoirs
The majority of dams will require an authorisation from SEPA under "The Water Environment (Controlled Activities)(Scotland) Regulations 2011 (CAR). This authorisation number will start CAR/.../... If you don't have a CAR authorisation for your dam, then you should contact your local SEPA team to discuss this.

Civil sanctions
Fixed Monetary Penalties (FMPSs) and Variable Monetary Penalties (VMPs) for reservoir managers
Since January 2019 SEPA has been able to issue Fixed Monetary Penalties (FMPs) of between £300 and £1,000 to reservoir managers.
In addition, SEPA also has the ability to issue Variable Monetary Penalties (VMPs) of up to £40,000 for majority of offences within the legislation.

Notify SEPA about the management of radioactive sources
To notify SEPA, you need to know:
the legal person in control of managing the radioactive source;
the type of radioactive source;
the location where the source is kept.
If you have this information, it should take no longer than 5 minutes to complete the notification form.
You must submit separate notifications for each location

Exempt activities
SEPA gathers data annually on the type, quantity and geographical origin of the waste handled from operators of the following ‘complex’ exempt activities.
Paragraphs 7, 8(2), 10, 46 and 50.
Paragraphs 9 and 19 where the volume of waste used exceeds 2,500 cubic metres
Paragraph 12 where the volume of waste used exceeds 10 tonnes per year.
Operators are asked to submit their data returns usin
