Screening modelling and risk identification reports
In 2019 SEPA introduced a new regulatory framework for finfish aquaculture to strengthen protection of the marine environment.
The SEPA website sets out the processes which operators follow to obtain a permit to operate a finfish farm. Before an application is made, an operator should provide an outline of the proposed farm. SEPA will then prepare a Screening Modelling and Risk Identification Repo
Protected areas and species
This section outlines the information that applicants are required to provide in relation to the impact the proposed scheme will have on areas designated as a Special Area of Conservation or other designated sites, and on protected species that are particularly vulnerable to hydro power development.

Use of waste on land for soil improvement
Changes to the way we regulate
The way we regulate the application of waste to land for soil improvement, including the application of treated sewage sludge, is changing.
Currently these activities are regulated under two pieces of legislation:
The Sludge (Use in Agriculture) Regulation 1989
Paragraph 7, 8(1) or 8(2) exemption to The Waste Management Licencing (Scotland) Regulations 2011

Diffuse Pollution in the Rural Environment
A programme of rural diffuse pollution work started in March 2010, to help deliver the objectives outlined in the River Basin Management Plans (RBMPs) for the Scotland and Solway-Tweed river basin districts.
Diffuse pollution priority catchments have been identified by SEPA as catchments failing to meet environmental standards. Each catchment has a dedic

Substances permitted to be discharged from finfish farm facilities - Deltamethrin
Temporary Regulatory Position Statement
This temporary regulatory position applies to finfish farm facilities that have an authorisation to discharge residues of medicinal products containing 1% deltamethrin.
Deltamethrin is the active ingredient in some medicinal products used to treat fish. The majority of existing permits restrict operators to only use, and discharge particular named medicinal
Submit a radioactive substances notification
You need to notify SEPA if you:
manage any of the following radioactive sources:
sealed sources in IAEA category 5 that exceed 200 kBq;
tritium sources that exceed 20 GBq;
electrodeposited sources
manage a radioactive orphan source
manage radioactive waste from an incident (note: this is a paper form)
You don't need to notify SEPA if the activity can be carried out under a permit or registrat
